From Financial Advisor to Best-Selling Author: A Journey
Q: Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you became a financial advisor?
A: Sure, I grew up on a farm in rural Oklahoma and spent 25 years as a Stockbroker, Financial Advisor, and Portfolio Manager. I have always had a passion for finance and helping others, so when the opportunity arose, I took it. I spent many years working in finance and developed a deep understanding of the industry.
Q: What inspired you to start writing about finance and investing?
A: My desire to help the average investor was the driving force behind my writing. I wanted to share my knowledge and experiences in a way that was accessible and useful to anyone, regardless of their background or experience level. I wrote books such as ‘Charting and Technical Analysis,’ ‘Trading the Trends,’ and ‘Common Sense Investing,’ with the aim of educating and empowering investors.
Q: How did you get into fiction writing?
A: While finance will always be a passion of mine, I have always loved fiction as well. Writing what I know has been a dream come true, and I found that my experiences as a financial expert added a unique perspective to my fiction writing. My love for fiction brought my novel, ‘The Inside Trader,’ to life.
The Inspiration Behind His Works
Q: How does your background as a financial advisor influence your writing?
A: My background as a financial advisor has given me a unique perspective and understanding of the financial world. This knowledge has allowed me to write with authenticity and credibility on finance and investing, as well as adding depth and realism to my fiction writing. In ‘The Inside Trader,’ for example, I was able to incorporate real-life financial scenarios and explore the complexities of the industry.
Q: Can you tell us a bit about ‘The Inside Trader’?
A: ‘The Inside Trader’ is a fictional story about a successful stockbroker who gets caught up in a world of insider trading and corruption. The novel explores the consequences of making the wrong choices and the impact they can have on one’s life and career. I wanted to show that it’s not just what happens to us or the mistakes we make in life that determine who we are, but it’s also about what we do with those experiences and how we learn from them.
